2010 Summer Conference:
Name: Integrating Computers into Laboratory Instruction: New Educational Strategies to Improve Learning Hyalite Lake
When: July 19th - 21st 2010
Location: Montana State University Alumni Conference Center, Bozeman, Montana
Description: Balancing Content, Inquiry Skills, and Increasing Enrollment

The MicroLab Advantage

MicroLab's 500-series instruments integrate FASTspec™ technology and the most commonly used chemical sensors into an affordable lab package that enables students to make almost every instrumental measurement required in general chemistry. The instruments' high-grade resolution coupled with powerful software will engage your students in the process of science.

Integrated sensors and sensor amplifiers prevent clutter from your bench tops, reduce cost, and allow for low-noise, high-resolution measurements. Small changes in chemical and biological systems are made evident as never before.

MicroLab products are used in general, analytical, physical, and biochemistry laboratory courses. They are also suitable for your undergraduate or graduate research programs, and in industry. The interfaces' dual AC / DC power supply permits use in the field as well as the laboratory.

Featured Products
MCL-II: MicroLab's Compact Laboratory

Faced with more students? Short on lab space and time? Need to increase your lab content?
Consider MicroLab's Compact Laboratory

For little more than the cost of a classic Spectronic-20 that is used for one or two experiments per year, your students will quickly make and analyze almost every instrumental measurement needed in general and environmental chemistry with MicroLab's MCL-II. And, MCL-II takes up about the same bench space as an open lab manual.

Students use MicroLab software to turn questions into experiments. In a 2-3 hour lab period they can design an experiment and quickly collect high-quality data. Then, in the lab with the instructor participating, they analyze, discuss, and draw conclusions from their data. Instructors can use the MCL network to project student data for discussion, to download experiments, or to share data.

MCL-II integrates our proven high-resolution FS-522 FASTspec™ lab interface and a Dell E5400 XP Professional network certified computer in a rugged, easily-stored package. Data system, computer, sensors, software, and compact desk cabinet with sensor storage and security cable are all included. There are no hidden costs and only one item to order. Warranty and support, including remote diagnostics, are provided by both MicroLab and Dell.
