Sensor Amplifier Kit
Sensor Amplifier Module
Model 280 Specifications

Input Power: ± 9 volts

Current Source: 10 mA

Op Amp:
  • TLE2071 or equivalent
  • 10 MHz Bandwidth
  • ±9 Volts DC Power Supply
  • Rail-Rail Output
  • ±80 mA Output Current
Instrumentation Amp:
  • AD422 or equivalent
  • 800 kHz Bandwidth
  • ±9 Volts DC Power Supply
The Model 280 Sensor Amplifier allows the user to "breadboard" custom sensors to be used with the MicroLab Model 402 Environmental Interface or with a standard voltmeter. The sensor amplifier includes several functions utilizing a number of circuits including:
  • ± 5VDC variable power supply
  • Simple voltage divider
  • Operational amplifier
  • 10 mA current source
  • Instrumentation amplifier
By configuring your circuit with the jumper wires (included) and then connecting the Signal/Power to J5 using the CAT-5 modular cable (included) you are ready to begin. The user is able to "patch" circuits together for signal conditioning and then output to the Model 402 to read the result and to perform analysis. The process is made easier given the intuitive layout of the assembly along with the generous allotment of terminals in which to place the jumpers. Amplifier Graph

If signal source applied to instrumentation amplifier does not have a ground return, it is important to provide a ground return for input circuit bias currents through resistors as shown to the right.
