Frequently Asked Questions
Anytime you use a new piece of software or hardware, there are bound to be a few problems or quirks. We will try to anticipate these and publish a list of common questions associated with the setup and operation of your new unit.

The most common reason for the software not finding the interface is that the interface does not have power. If the power is not on, switch it on and select 'Retry' in the MicroLab dialog box. If the interface is already on, check to ensure that the serial cable is seated firmly in its socket and select 'Retry'. If these do not remedy the problem, contact MicroLab.
A sine wave on the data graph occurs when the software is opened in simulation mode when the software could not locate the interface. Ensure the interface is powered on, close the MicroLab software, and restart the program. If these steps do not remedy the problem, contact MicroLab.
You need to load the software driver for the USB adaptor before Windows will find it. There is a small CD that comes with the adaptor. If it is lost or misplaced, a replacement can be found at www.bafo.com
You can find the latest version of the software here.
There are two reasons for the word "Simulation" to appear in the window title. The first is that you are utilizing the site license and are accessing the MicroLab program to read saved data outside the lab. This is perfectly normal and you can ignore the "Simulation" label.

The second reason is that your interface did not properly initialize with the software. This is usually caused by the interface not having power prior to the software being started. Turn power on to the interface and restart the software. If this does not solve the problem, please contact MicroLab.

When calibration data is taken, it must be curve fit to one of the options given. If no fit is chosen, the calibration data is lost and the instrument being used will not give values as accurate as calibrated values. Solve this problem by selecting the sensor at issue, and click 'Edit'. This will place you back at the dialog box for the sensor. Recalibrate and select an appropriate line fit.
